- 1). Close all open programs.
- 2). Open a Web browser window and navigate to the Java downloads page (see the Resources link).
- 3). Click the Windows download link labeled "Online," then click "Run" when prompted.
- 4). Click "Install" to accept the JRE license terms and continue with the installation process.
- 5). Select any optional programs, such as Google Toolbar and Google Desktop, that you want to install alongside the JRE. You do not have to install these programs in order for the JRE to function properly. Click "Next" after making your selections.
- 6). Click "Close" when the final installation dialog box appears on screen.
- 7). Close your open browser window. Your new Java installation will be ready to use the next time you open your NetZero browser.
