Baby Shower Games - Make Your Next Baby Shower Extra Memorable
Baby showers are not complete without a few silly games to get everyone laughing. Sometimes the difficulty is deciding which ones to play. Consider your guest list. Is the group shy or outgoing? Are they athletes or couch potatoes? Just remember, the goal is to have fun.
If your group is overly shy try games that will not single out anyone. These kinds of games will usually suit the couch potatoes also. They are easy to assemble and bring with you.
In the Name Game you put the expectant mom's name across the top of the paper and let guests figure out as many baby names as possible using only those letters in mom's name.
In another easy one, give each guest a paper bag and see who can create the most unique baby outfit by tearing off pieces of the bag.
Lastly, you can bring a skein of yarn and a pair of scissors. Each guest guesses how much yarn is needed to go once around expectant mom's tummy and cuts it to that size. Mom-to-be is last. She ropes the yarn around once and the guests compare their yarns to hers. The piece of yarn closest to the right size wins.
A more involved game is the Busy Mom. It is not for the faint at heart or those who are afraid to stand in front of a crowd. Mom has a doll, pretend phone, basket of baby clothes (no more than eight items), and a bag of clothespins. Each guest takes a turn being "mom". She must hang the clothes on the clothesline while holding the clothespin bag, the baby, and talking on the phone. The clothesline may be held by two other guests or can be strung between two chairs. The hostess will time the guests and see who is fastest.
