Circuit Specifications for IC Chip TCM5087N
- You can operate the TCM5087N on from 3.5 to 13.5 volts direct current (DC). It consumes a maximum of 10 milliamps of current when producing tones, and 200 microamps in standby mode.
- The TCM5087N uses a standard television color burst crystal running at 3.579545 megahertz. This external part connects to the IC's pins 7 and 8.
- Voltages applied between pins 3, 4, 5 and 9, as well as pins 11 to 14, control the frequencies the TCM5087N produces. Voltages ranging between .7 and the supply voltage turn on a row and column; a voltage between 0 and .3 turns a row and column off. You can have up to two row/column combinations turned on at a given time.
- The TCM5087N produces close approximations of sine waves at about 500 millivolts root mean square (RMS). It can drive electronic loads with up to 1150 milliwatts of power.
