- 1). Go to the Mystery Shopping Providers Association website (MysteryShop.org) and take a basic skills test at a cost of $15. Pass the test and print out the certificate. Note that you will receive a certification number that lets mystery shopping companies know you're certified.
- 2). Attend a one-day seminar for $99 or purchase the gold-certificate DVD for $99. Both cover the test you will take to become gold-certified and explain about the business of mystery shopping.
- 3). Take the gold-certification test and pass it. Print out your certificate or have it mailed to you. Receive your new certification number, or if you fail the test, retake it up to three times. Pay an additional $99 if you have failed three times and wish to take it again.
- 4). Alert your mystery shopping company that you have certification. Email the company or update your mystery shopping profile.
- 5). Search for mystery shopping companies for which to work. Look at job lists from MysteryShop.org and JobSlinger.com. Provide these companies with your certification number.
