How to Make Things Blurry with GIMP
- 1). Launch GIMP, and open the graphic you want to blur by clicking "File" and "Open."
- 2). Click "Filters" at the top of the GIMP image workbook, and select "Blur" and then "Gaussian Blur." A pop-up dialog will appear to guide you through the filter.
- 3). Input a blur radius for your image. In general, you will want the horizontal and vertical measurements to be equal. Start with a pixel blur of 10, then look at the preview box to see if you want an increase or decrease in blur strength. Click "OK" when you are satisfied.
- 4). Save your blurred image using the "File" and "Save As" function.
