How to Change a Radiator Hose in a 1994 Toyota Corolla
- 1). Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Place a drain pan underneath the engine. This will catch any coolant that may come out of the hose once it is removed.
- 2). Squeeze the hose clamp with a pair of pliers. Pull the hose off the radiator pipe with your hands while the hose clamp is loose.
- 3). Loosen the hose clamp by the engine with pliers. Pull the hose off the thermostat housing.
- 4). Place new hose clamps on the new hose. Slide the hose clamps toward the middle of the hose. The new hose clamps will be the type of clamps that are threaded and require a flat-head screwdriver to tighten.
- 5). Push the hose onto the radiator pipe. Push the other end of the radiator hose onto the thermostat housing. Slide the hose clamps where the hose overlays the pipe on both ends. Tighten the hose clamps with the flat-head screwdriver.
- 6). Change out the bottom hose the same way. Ensure you change out the hose clamps with the radiator hose.
- 7). Twist the radiator cap counterclockwise and fill with coolant to the coolant level. Start the car and allow it to warm up. Once the thermostat opens, the level will drop. Top off the radiator level with pre-mixed coolant. Tighten the radiator cap to the radiator.
