How to Aim Tundra Headlamps

    • 1). Verify the tires are at the proper pressure and are relatively equivalent. Ensure a significant amount of weight is not unequally distributed in the Tundra to make it tilt one way or the other. Position the vehicle on a flat surface with a flat wall approximately 25 feet away.

    • 2). Obtain a measurement of the distance from the ground to the center of the headlamp and from the center of the Tundra to the center of the headlamp for each light. Measure the same distance vertically on the flat wall and place a strip of tape or make a marking along the wall at the same height. Place another strip of tape or marking that runs perpendicular to the first mark at the centerline for the headlight and the center of the car. The markings on the wall should show both a vertical and horizontal centerline for each light.

    • 3). Turn the headlamps on and view the location of the lights on the wall. If the center of the headlamps is not at the location marked as center at the wall then adjustments are required.

    • 4). Open the hood of the truck and locate the headlamp adjusting screws just above the light. While looking at the vehicle, turn the screw on the left side of the light with a screwdriver to make horizontal adjustments until the light is at the center. Turn the screw on the right side to make any necessary vertical adjustments. Verify alignment against the wall.

    • 5). Continue to adjust and verify the headlamp alignment until the light shines at the cross point marked on the wall.
