Troubleshooting a Canon Elura 100
- 1). Charge the battery or replace it with a spare to resolve issues such as the camcorder turning off by itself or the cassette compartment not opening or not fully opening. Charge and store the batteries between 32 degrees and 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2). Focus manually if auto-focus is not working. This can occur when shooting against a reflective surface, shooting in low-contrast light or shooting fast-moving subjects. Set the mode switch at the rear of the camera to "P." Press "Zoom" on the top of the camera to adjust the distance. Press "Joystick" on the back of the camera to activate the joystick guide on the LCD. Press "Focus" on the joystick to activate manual focus and use the left and right arrow keys on the joystick to bring the subject into focus.
- 3). Adjust the viewfinder with the adjustment lever below it if the image is blurry. Turn on the camcorder and leave the LCD closed. Press the lever to sharpen the image.
- 4). Turn off and disconnect the camcorder, including the battery pack, when abnormal characters appear on the LCD or the camcorder otherwise malfunctions. Static electricity or outside interference can cause problems with the camcorder's circuit. Removing power sources will allow the camera to reset.
