Clean your burners before the first grilling of the season and as needed throughout the year.
To clean -- remove the burners and use a wire brush clean the exterior of the burner.
This will remove excessive residue and any loose rust.
Clean out the clogged up gas holes with a paper clip.
Check you Venturi tubes for possible blockages by insects and clean with a Venturi brush or bent coat hanger.

Clean grates are a must for good grilling.
Clean the cooking grids easily by covering them with a layer of aluminum foil and running the grill on high for 10 to 15 minutes.
The baked-on food will burn to a fine white powder which can be easily brushed away.
