How to Replace the Seat Cushion on a Leather Chair

    • 1). Measure the length, width and thickness of the leather cushion. Select foam padding that is 1 1/2 to 2 inches thicker than the thickness you just noted.

    • 2). Draw out the necessary length and width on the piece of foam padding in front of you, using a piece of chalk and your measuring tape.

    • 3). Cut out the cushion according to those dimensions using an electric knife. Push the electric knife along the chalk lines you drew, with one hand away from the knife, holding the foam in place. Cut away from yourself.

    • 4). Cut a piece of batting that is twice as long and wide as your cushion. Wrap the cushion in it once and cut away the excess.

    • 5). Reinsert the cushion into the leather cover. You may struggle slightly, but once the cushion is in, the leather will mold to that shape.
