The problem with people is that they are fully embroiled in an identity crisis.
Our own generation is like a socio-path in search of a destiny.
Our leaders have been and still are politicians in search of a national programme.
We are in a generation that is searching for a common character, and the fear of unity has been the undoing of our leaders.
This is because they lack the will to transform our primordial instincts and create a modern society.
When I invite you to weep with me, I am not just trying to drain or over-labour your tear glands to keep the tears at free flow.
I do not mean you should weep for ever without consolation from any quarters.
The invitation is to keep you abreast of the simple realities of our time that have remained troublesome in our body politic.
Politics has remained a blessing and a curse to this generation.
Apart from posing like a profession to a lot of people, it has helped to fashion our nations into a distorted and complicated society where every developmental effort has, to a large extent, been stultified.
The main problem is that successive leaders have been confined to the administration of palliatives, making gestures rather than taking action, thereby leaving the people to wallow in wrong directions, floundering in the wilderness of history.
The citizens have been abandoned and are wallowing in despair.
Notwithstanding, my joy is that nothing lasts forever.
The gathered storm will soon disappear.
I say this because our deliverance lies in our own hands.
Heaven can only help those who believe in helping themselves.
I have understood this reality in a way that instead of weeping up sentiments, one can take consolation on the fact that if there is life, there must be hope.
If affliction can cause sorrow, distress or suffering, there is the possibility of drinking from a cup of consolation after.
That means, we are not going to weep for too long, if at all we are going to weep.
Friend, we have talents which, if harnessed, could solve our problems.
We have a future.
Though most politicians have projected us as people without a future, yet the Almighty God speaks to us from His Word, the Bible that He will give us a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
Though our generation may continue to celebrate mediocrity, promoting substandard materials, with the right people not having the right opportunity, yet you and I must accept responsibility for our lives.
The following steps can help us plan our future no matter who is against us.

Accepting Responsibility - For every destiny, there is someone who is responsible.
Nothing comes by accident.
The responsibility you showed yesterday is what brings you to success today.
Your journey to the future begins with a proper handling of your yesterday's opportunities.
When you take responsibility for your actions, you help to build a successful future for yourself and your nation.

Being Creative - No future is a matter of accident - it does not just happen - it is built; it is created.
Just as there is beauty and attraction, yet everything beauty and attraction is tied to somebody.
That somebody is not just an idler, he is a creator - bringing things into existence.
He is a producer, a manufacturer and fruit-bearer.
The beauty of the future you are building has to do with your personal ability to create things, not plastered on outside influences.

Being Wise - A builder is wisdom personified.
Wisdom refers to the sensibility of a person.
Since your mind is the seat of wisdom, what it contains is nothing, but your sense.
Therefore, the sense you exhibit in life determines your value.
When you have value, you have a price and your price is nothing but a tangible expression of your input in the race of life.
Every positive input in life, has the potency of carrying out a glorious future.

Having A Plan - Every future is based on careful planning.
No man on this planet earth can boast of a future which he did not have a plan for.
The fundamental failure of many lives is lack of planning.
Your life is a product of a plan.
God planned you and set you in order, with all your body parts properly arranged and working together.
Your future lies in your good plan for it.
When you have plan, you have regulations.
If you know where you are going, you regulate your life because the strength of your future depends on the accurate analysis of the steps that you will take.
However, your tears will not have to flow for too long, if there is a good reason for it to do so.
When we adhere strictly to the above guidelines, no matter what the society may hand over to us, we would be able to forge ahead.
We have a bright future, let us bear in mind that posturing can never be an alternative to action properly planned and executed.
When we accept responsibility, become creative, wise and plan our future, we will be sure that if reform for a better society proves impossible from the top, then the inevitable revolution can begin with us from below.
The holy Bible says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Let us join hands together to build our future, because this generation is depending on us for a greater manifestation.
