The other designs were smaller, cheaper and simpler.
They applied some of the mini concepts also known as Mimi.
This led to the formation of the first Super mirage III which slowly evolved into the Delta 1000 and 2000 and then the current model that is being discussed.
While the AFC was a strike first and then intercept kind of jet, this aircraft was designed to operate in the exact opposite way.
It was also more affordable.
So, after the AFC was cancelled, the single engine design of this aircraft was offered as an alternative.
