Instructions

• 1). First you need to decide what type of soccer shoes you need. There are many types, from shoes made for indoor turf play to outdoor grass. If you do not know what type of field you will be playing on, ask your coach.
  
  
• 2). Measure both feet in inches. Write down the measurements if needed.
  
  
• 3). Head to a sporting goods or shoe store with your soccer socks and shin guards. Find a couple of pairs of soccer shoes you like. Tell the customer service person what shoes you are interested in trying on. Make sure to grab the size you measured your feet to be and the sizes above and below. You can also have the customer service person measure your feet if you want to be sure.
  
  
• 4). Put on your socks and shin guards, and then try on the shoes. Practice a kicking motion, and run back and forth in them to make sure they are comfortable and tight enough. You want your toes to have room to wiggle, but you want tightness in the heel because of the firmness and lack of padding in that area of the shoes. They should fit like a glove to ensure they perform well. The most important aspect is that they are comfortable.
