- 1). Launch your web browser, then type 192.168.1.1 in the address field. Press "Enter". On the password screen, leave the user name blank. Use admin for the password. Click "OK".
- 2). Select the appropriate Internet setup settings in the Setup>Basic screen. Many of these settings are obtained from your Internet Service Prvider (ISP). Other than the settings obtained from your ISP, the default settings should work for most network applications. Set the time zone in the "Time Zone" field. Click "Save Changes" before navigating away from this screen.
- 3). Select the appropriate wireless standard from the drop down menu in Setup>Basic Wireless Settings. If in doubt as to your wireless standard, leave the default selection at "Mixed'. This will work for most network applications. Type a name for the Wireless Network Name. This name must be identical for all wireless devices on the network. Click "Save Settings" before navigating away from this screen.
- 4). Select the appropriate security method for your wireless network in the "Wireless>Wireless Security" screen. If you do not wish to utilize security, leave the default setting of "Disabled". It is recommended to use some form of security for your wireless network. Whether you use WPA or WEP security, all devices on your wireless network must use the same encryption method and encryption key. Click "Save Settings" before navigating away from this screen.
- 5). Reboot the router so all the changes take effect.
