Which Sportsbook Should You Bet On?
With a vast amount of options available, it can become a difficult choice to decide on which sportsbook to bet on.
Before anything else, you should first consider whether you will be betting in a tangible sportsbook or their online competitors.
Online sportsbooks are, in my opinion, much better than brick-and-mortar ones, but that's the topic for another article. All I will say about this topic is that online sportsbooks provide a lot of benefits and just a few drawbacks when compared to tangible venues, and unless you've a phobia for online transactions or want to experience the environment offered by a brick-and-mortar book, you're way better off by playing in an Internet based sportsbook.
Right now we are talking about the fundamental elements on which you should base your decision as to where to place your bet. For the sake of simplicity I'm leaving out local individuals who take on the profession of bookies; not because they can't be valuable competition, but because dealing with bookies takes a lot of additional factors when deciding if you should bet with them or not (and they rarely offer lines as good as those found on sportsbooks working through the Internet).
Assuming you have already decided to go online or offline, the remaining issue is finding the best lines/odds available in a place where you know you will get paid. It's as simple as that. Don't worry too much about the details; after all, you're looking to make money out of this, so just go to the venue which pays you more by offering lines/odds which favor your bet.
You don't want to become fond of a particular venue; you want to have options and select the option which increases your chances of winning (or winning more). That's the main reason online sportsbooks are my preference, you can compare lines and odds from multiple sportsbooks in a matter of seconds without much effort; think about the coordinated effort, or the difficulty of doing something like that with brick-and-mortar sportsbooks, assuming there are enough in the vicinity for that to be possible.
In any case, that's what you need to have as clear as day when deciding which sportsbook to use (online or offline).
Also, just as a friendly reminder, remember to read all terms and conditions from sportsbooks carefully; not because they will try to rip you off, but because some of their bonuses have ridiculous conditions (meaning you shouldn't think it'll be easy to cash that money out), as well as any payout conditions (some have daily/weekly limits which might not benefit you as much, but that depends on how much you bet, and win).
