    • 1). Obtain the official USPS change-of-address form. You can either pick up the form at your local post office, or you can print it off the USPS website. The change-of-address form is USPS form 3575. If you prefer to print it online, go to the USPS address change web page and enter the required information and click "Print Form" rather than "Submit" when you are finished.

    • 2). Fill out USPS form 3575 completely if you picked it up from your local post office. Be sure to include your full name, old address and new address, as well as whether the move is a single-person move or full-household move. If you select "Household Move," mail is forwarded for other persons at the address with the same last name.

    • 3). Drop the change-of-address form into any USPS collection box, or your outgoing mailbox. The address is preprinted on the form. No postage is required to mail the change-of-address form.

    • 4). Receive the change-of-address confirmation at your new address within 10 days. If you do not, contact the USPS at 1-800-275-8777.
