    • 1). Open Internet Explorer. Click "Tools," then click "Internet Options." This opens a small dialog window on your screen with seven tabs on it.

    • 2). Click the "Content" tab. This area contains all of the settings required for mature-content restrictions. Click the "Enable" button in the "Content Adviser" section. This will open a second dialog box.

    • 3). Click the "General" tab and then click the "Create Password" button. Type in a unique password and then press the "OK" button. This will prevent anyone without the password from changing your ratings.

    • 4). Click the "Ratings" tab. This area contains various categories of content. Click the content type you want to restrict and then move the slider to the desired rating. Below the slider is a description of both the content you have selected and the currently selected rating. Select your rating preferences based on your needs and then press the "Apply" button to save your changes.
