- 1). Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel."
- 2). Access "Network Connections" in the control panel.
- 3). Click the "Create new connection" link.
- 4). Select the "Connect to the Internet" option, then click "Next."
- 5). Choose "Set up my connection manually," then click "Next." In the next screen, choose either "Connect using a broadband connection that is always on" or "Connect using a broadband modem that requires a user name and password" as your connection type. If you choose the latter, the wizard will ask you to input your username and password. Once you have selected the appropriate choice, click "Next," then click "Finish." Your computer will now be able to connect to the Internet through your high-speed modem.
