Is Segway Rental the Best Choice in All Cities?
Segway rental can work out to be expensive, but the experience you will get from riding one will certainly leave you with some happy memories.
Riding one really is a unique opportunity to glide along while you stand.
When the Segway first premiered back in 2001 it was predicted that it would take over from the car, in the same way that the car took over from the horse, however that never really materialized as it proved not to be a practical option, but over the last several years segway rental has become progressively more popular as a mode of transport in tourist locations.
Segway rental can work out to be expensive ( about $75 for an hours ride) but the novelty and fun that you get from the experience will justify the cost.
I almost certainly would not rent a segway everywhere, but there are some locations where segway rental is a must.
In Amsterdam and London where you can rent a segway but you would probably be better to rent a bicycle, which is much better suited to the roads in these cities because they have designated cycle lanes which are safer to use.
Lisbon - You can only use the Segway on a designated circuit in the downtown pedestrian area, but it does come with a GPS unit that will show you where the limitations are.
Prague - limited use only as you can only use the segway as part of a guided tour, that will take you along designated pedestrian areas and bike paths.
Milan - Again as part of a guided tour but you do get to go to more tourist attractions including the historical town center.
Los Angeles - One of the best places to rent a segway as you have much more freedom and they offer guided tours along the beautiful Santa Monica and Venice beach coast roads.
You can also get the Hollywood movie star excursion which is definitely worth while.
