The new Blob brush allows you to draw merged paths. It draws paths similar to what you get when you draw a path (usually a wide one) and Outline the Path (Object > Path > Outline Path).
It works great with a graphics tablet, but you can also use a mouse. If you use a graphics pen with your tablet with a drawing tip on one end and eraser tip on the other, simply flip the pen to access the eraser tool and vice versa.
Double-click on the Blob Brush tool in the toolbox to bring up the Blob Tool options. To have the brush affect only a selected object, make sure to check Selection Limits Merge. You can also set variations in size, angle, and roundness, and activate pressure sensitivity if you use a graphics tablet. Where the blob brush really shines is for people who use Illustrator for freehand drawing. The Blob brush excels in this, and if you are one of those lucky enough to have that talent, you’ll soon find the Blob brush one of your favorite tools.
