How to Make a Button-Flap Pocket
- 1). Cut a 4-inch-wide by 8-inch-long piece of fabric in the shape of a triangle. This should look similar to the end of a men's tie. Fold each of short edges of the material up 1/4 inch and press the folds down with an iron that i set based on the type of fabric that you have chosen to use.
- 2). Fold the fold that your ironed up another 1/4 inch and sew it in place place. Situate the fabric facing down and fold over one of the short edges 3 inches.
- 3). Sew up the side of the fabric that sits parallel of the fold.
- 4). Fold the 2-inch flap of fabric that remains over the pocket and press it into place with an iron. Sew a button hole on the inside of the flap.
- 5). Sew a button to the outer edge of the pocket.
