Charlie opens his eyes. There is commotion. He gets up and sees Locke carrying Claire and yelling for Jack. Charlie wants to know if she is alright. Jack tries to revive her and she opens her eyes and screams.
He tells her that when Ethan took her, he took Charlie too. She wants to know who Ethan is.
Tommy takes Charlie into the pub and shows him a woman. "Lucy Heatherton, 22 and ripe in oh so many wonderful ways," he says. He explains to Charlie that she just graduated from Oxford and lives with her dad in Knightsbridge, her dad being Francis Pryce-Heatherton, "who, my friend, is bloody loaded."
Charlie wants to know how Tommy got this information, but Tommy just says, "Ready to fall in love, Mr. Charlie Pace of legendary rock band DriveShaft?"
"Absolutely," Charlie answers.
Charlie talks and jokes with Lucy and her friends, while DriveShaft's hit song plays on the jukebox.
Charlie looks around and Ethan steps out of cover, muddy and bloody.
Charlie tells Jack, Locke, and Sayid of the threat. "What do we do? We go out and we bloody kill him!" Charlie says.
Locke asks Charlie to calm down, but Jack agrees with Charlie. "The man threatens to kill one of us unless we bring him Claire and what, we just wait for that to happen?" He goes on to say that they tracked Ethan once and they can do it again.
"You both seem to have forgotten how that turned out," Locke says.
Sayid and Locke want to build up the camp's defenses, and Jack and Charlie reluctantly go along with the plan.
Charlie talks to Claire and she wonders why everyone is acting so strangely and why no one is really talking to her. Charlie lies, telling her that everything is fine.
She is excited for Charlie to meet her father and invites him to dinner.
Locke, Boone, and Sayid make an alarm system using empty cans and homemade tripwires. Sayid posts sentries with spears around the perimeter of the camp. Boone volunteers to keep watch and Sayid reluctantly agrees.
At nightfall, Charlie is afraid for Claire and asks Jack to move her to a secure cave. Jack tells Charlie to try and relax. Charlie confesses that he feels like it was his fault that Claire was taken. Jack puts a hand on Charlie's shoulder and promises that nothing will happen to Claire again.

Charlie's Flashback - Charlie Meets Lucy
Charlie and his buddy, Tommy, are in an alley doing drugs. Tommy tells Charlie that their stash is getting low and Charlie better go back to work. Charlie doesn't think that DriveShaft will get back together, but Tommy has a plan.Tommy takes Charlie into the pub and shows him a woman. Ethan Reappears
Charlie and Jin walk on the trail that leads from the caves to the beach, but are stopped when Jin is knocked out by a flying rock.Charlie looks around and Ethan steps out of cover, muddy and bloody.
"Charlie, I want her back," Ethan says. "I want you to bring her back."Charlie wants to know what Ethan had done to Claire. Ethan grabs Charlie by the throat and puts him up against a tree. He says he'll kill one of the survivors every day until he gets her back. "And Charlie," he says, "I'll kill you last." He lets Charlie go and walks away into the jungle.

Lucy brings Charlie to her home. As she makes tea, Charlie looks around, fingering the nice items. When Lucy returns, Charlie is looking at a silver and gold case and she says that it belonged to Winston Churchill and that her dad collects old rubbish from world leaders.She is excited for Charlie to meet her father and invites him to dinner.
Use the Guns
Kate finds Jack and says that she heard about Ethan and she thinks they should use the Marshal's guns. Jack says, "I'm not putting guns in untrained hands."Locke, Boone, and Sayid make an alarm system using empty cans and homemade tripwires.
