How to Wire Wrap a Bail Through a Hole
- 1). Cut a 4-inch section of wire and thread it through the hole of your stone. Place the stone in the halfway position on your wire.
- 2). Press gently with your fingers the wire in an upward direction toward the top of the stone.
- 3). Cross both halves of the wire over the top of the stone so that they are at equal angles facing away from each other.
- 4). Hold the stone with one hand and with your other hand twist the two halves of the wire around each other four times, forming a coil.
- 5). Position your wire cutters close to the coil and cut off the end of the first half of wire.
- 6). Flatten with the needle nose pliers the end of the cut wire to the coil so that it does not stick out.
- 7). Position your needle nose pliers on the remaining half of the wire 1/4 inch above the coil and bend the wire in a right-angle position.
- 8). Place your round nose pliers above the right-angle bend and wrap the wire around the jaw of your pliers in the opposite direction of the bend, forming a complete loop. The end of your wire will be in a perpendicular angle to the top of the stone.
- 9). Hold the loop in your fingers and with your other hand wrap the wire around the 1/4 inch of wire above the first coil. Wrap the wire until the coil you are creating meets the first coil.

Cut off the excess wire with wire cutters. Use the needle nose pliers to tuck the end close to the coil so that it does not stick out. - 11
Press the loop with the needle nose pliers and twist it to align the loop with the stone. Press the coil with your needle nose pliers to straighten the bail.
