- 1). Clean the glass vase so that you have a smooth surface free of debris to work with.
- 2). Spread out your mosaic tiles or glass pieces on a flat surface. Choose a few coordinating colors or multiple colors for a varied look. You can move the tiles around to create an image (such as a flower, shape or letter) or you can separate the tiles by color and use alternating colors as a pattern.
- 3). Spread a small amount of hot glue or tile adhesive on the glass vase. Work in small areas so that the glue does not set too quickly.
- 4). Place hot glue or adhesive on the back of a tile or piece of glass and place it onto the glass vase. Placing glue on both the tile and the vase keeps the tiles from sliding while you are applying them.
- 5). Continue to glue down the tiles, spacing them 1/8 of an inch apart. Use different colors to create a pattern, or use one color for a monochromatic vase. Place all of the tiles on the vase to cover the entire area.
- 6). Allow the glue or adhesive to fully dry.
- 7). Mix the grout or plastic according to the manufacturer's directions. Apply it to the tiled glass gently to force the grout into the spaces without dislodging tiles. Work the grout into the surface by spreading it in a horizontal and then vertical direction.
- 8). Allow the grout to set up for a few minutes, following the manufacturer's directions, and then wipe the excess grout with a wet sponge. Allow the grout to fully cure before use.
