Instructions for a Grosgrain Belt
- 1). Measure your waist or hips - wherever you want the belt to sit - with the measuring tape to figure out how long to make the belt.
- 2). Cut each length of grosgrain four inches longer than the length measured by the measuring tape. This extra length will allow you to secure the belt tightly.
- 3). Cut the interfacing to the same length as the two ribbons and cut it to a width that is about two centimeters smaller than the ribbon width.
- 4). Attach the interfacing to the back side of one of the ribbons by following the directions on the interfacing package.
- 5). Sew the two ribbons together so that the backs of the ribbons face the interfacing and the front of the ribbons face out. Sew one long line near each outside edge of ribbon, preferably in the extra space where the interfacing does not reach.
- 6). Thread one end of the ribbons through both D-rings to attach them. Sew the ribbon to itself as close to the D-rings as possible to ensure the tightest fit of the belt.
