- 1). Open any version of Customizer -- including Customizer 2000, Customizer 10000, Customizer 10000 Plus or Customizer 11000 -- on your home computer. This software suite comes with Janome MemoryCraft machines, including model numbers 10001, 10000, 9500 and 300E.
- 2). Use Customizer software to create an embroidery design. The .JEF format translates this design into a digital format your MemoryCraft machine understands. Import a design from .BMP or .WMF format using the “Import” option on the EasyImport software tool, which is part of the Customizer suite. Edit the design to your liking using the EasyEdit program, which allows you to create templates, lettering and design overlays.
- 3). Click on “File,” located on the top bar of Cuztomizer's main screen, and select “Save As.” Choose the location in which you'd like to save the file on your computer. The program saves files in the .JEF format by default, but if another option is selected, use the drop-down menu to select the .JEF option. You can also type “.jef” after the file name to create a .JEF file. Once you've named your file and chosen a save location, click “Save” to complete the process.
