Hair Plugs Transplant Using Hair Cloning
Hair plugs transplantation is a surgical process where, the live hair strips from one part of the head is plugged into a balding region of the same person.
The donor part from where the hair strip is removed is generally the horse shoe shaped region in the back of the head, which is often genetically coded such that no Balding happens.
Now here comes a catch.
What about those people who are completely bald, or of a class having very low density of hair in the back of their head.
Obviously they do not have enough hair follicles to be able to implant to the whole head.
Well, fortunately there might be a solution in the near future, medical science has come up with something remarkable and Cosmetic Medical science is certainly trying to utilize these things well enough.
Hair cloning for hair plugs - A possible solution.
Medical researchers have successfully proved that the dermal sheath cells, found in bulge region near the area of dermal papilla and the sebaceous glands present at the base of the human hair follicle can be isolated from a person and implanted to the skin of any other person.
These clones can be used as hair plugs and the transplantation can be done.
The cloning of hair plugs is not like duplicating the hair follicles.
This is more like manipulating and stimulating the cells to induce hair growth.
The beauty of the technology comes from the fact that, the hair plugs can also be cloned from a different person and even from the person of the opposite sex.
Problems and Challenges: This technique might be one of the best choices in the future, but as of now the technique is not mature enough to be utilized commercially.
There are chances that the recipient's body treats the implant as an enemy body and fight against the donor cells (Similar to what happens sometimes during blood transfusion, where the white blood cells treat the donated blood as an enemy body and a whole lot of chemical process happen internally, even cases of death due to such issues have been reported).
