How to Use a Jighead With Swimbaits

    • 1). Hold the swimbait upright with your index finger and your thumb. The tail should point towards the floor and the head should point upwards.

    • 2). Insert the jighead hook slowly into the top of the swimbait. Work slowly to prevent poking yourself with the sharp hook and to give yourself as much control possible over where the hook exits. Try to insert the hook in one smooth movement. Repeated stopping can cause the swimbait to tear. Allow the hook to exit the swimbait from the bottom or what would be the belly of the fish the swimbait mimics.

    • 3). Add glue between the swimbait and the top of the jighead to ensure the two do not detach from each other. This step is optional yet helpful, especially if you're fishing in weeds or other underwater structures.

    • 4). Cast your line out with your jighead and swimbait attached. Troll the line slowly to duplicate realistic swimming movements. Continue casting your line until a fish bites.
