I am here not to defend Wicca as a religion, but I am to state some truths about their beliefs.
Witches have always been associated with old ladies with pointy nose, long nails, and broomsticks.
This is not true of course.
As everybody should know witches is one of the terms associated with people practicing Wicca.
There is also no such thing as evil or good witch in Wicca.
Wiccans do not have a strict concept of what is evil and what is good.
It is deep in oneself that, that judgment will be passed.
Wiccans believe that the only time a person commits a wrongful act is if he thinks it might have offended his beliefs as an individual, or might have offended other people.
Being responsible for one's actions is a crucial part in the Wiccan belief system.
It teaches them on how to act on their choices, and distinguish what is most wise to do.
Another misconception about Wicca is that they're Satanists.
This is something that they have cleared from the time that they have been established as a religion.
One of the most important Wiccan symbols is the pentagram.
It represents the 5 elements that are highly venerated in Wicca; earth, air, fire, water, and spirit.
However, the Wiccan pentagram closely resembles the inverted pentagram used by the Church of Satan.
This is what's confusing the public about Wicca.
Judgment has already been made to the followers, and it created a social stigma, that up until now is widely believed by a majority of people.
Another misconception is that Wiccans practice Black Magick.
The concept of good and bad is unknown to many witches.
Wicca has always promoted the use of magick to help other people when they need spiritual guidance.
Furthermore, black magick denotes that there is evil in the hearts of Wiccans.
This is nothing but false accusations to Wiccans.
There has been no solid proof ofblack magick spells being inflicted on other people.
Wiccans have always nurtured their spirituality by using magick as a means of meditation and reflection.
One last misconception that I want to point out is this.
Wiccans are not stupid, uneducated people.
Some Wiccans that I personally know are those with high intellect.
Wiccans, both traditionalists and solitaries have been found in the field of science technology, and business.
Wiccans are not all about Wiccan spells and cauldrons.
They are those people who know a lot of things about the world.
If Wiccans were uneducated gypsies, which tabloids claim they are, they would have formed outrageous movements or activities in the streets.
Instead they keep silent.
It is only those who understand the world, and have inner peace who can mute out all the prejudices that the modern day society still has about Wicca.
