10 Demands Americans Should March on Washington to Enforce
I dream of a movement starting in California and marching toward Washington, DC.
We could call the march M.
O.
W.
March on Washington to mow their grass.
Big changes are needed in this country and our leaders have neither the will nor the power to get it done.
Why should they? Elected officials live lives of luxury and privilege at our expense.
They reward themselves in ways that we don't even see.
Who among us wouldn't trade for their health care benefits, retirements, and bank accounts? Why else would millionaires spend fortunes to get elected? What if a group of non-violent but seriously concerned citizens gathered on the west coast and trekked east to Washington? What if this group grew like a snowball rolling downhill picking up millions of sympathizers as they passed by? What if this group was 10, 20, or 50 Million strong by the time it reached the capital? Do you think government would listen? Do you think we could present demands that they would have to take seriously? I do.
I believe in the power of the people, but it takes huge commitment for the people to make the necessary changes, and what changes are necessary?
With money comes power.
We the people have our voices.
If we want real change, we have make it happen.
Otherwise, we will get more of the same.
We could call the march M.

- Every elected official in the congress has to step down, right now.
Pack up and leave immediately.
No ifs, buts, or exceptions, they have all been tainted.
And if by some chance one of them is clean, let them prove it to their constituency. - Every staff member of a congressman needs to go home and get real jobs.
- Any bureaucrat who serves in a position that oversees industries in which he or she was working prior to taking a government position must be summarily dismissed.
That is especially critical for the Treasury Department where many officials came from the financial industry. - Demand a constitutional amendment banning paid lobbyists from contacting elected officials in any way.
- Make a law prohibiting anyone in any government position from contacting elected officials without a five year minimum break from service.
- Require intense audits to scrutinize from top-to-bottom every business receiving government money.
Make sure that the charges are fair and reasonable and there are no illegal payoffs to government officials. - Insist that the congress live by the rules they impose on the rest of us.
Eliminate pensions for them other than Social Security.
Provide the same health care available to the rest of the citizenry. - Balance the books and put the country on a path to eliminate debt.
- Stop Foreign Aid.
Why are we giving away our money when we are so far in debt? - Eliminate the IRS and institute a value added tax.
We all buy things, including the rich.
This way everyone pays based on what they buy.
If necessities like food and shelter need to be protected from the tax, so be it, but use the tax for supporting government not as a way to spy on Americans.
Let IRS agents audit government contracts.
With money comes power.
We the people have our voices.
If we want real change, we have make it happen.
Otherwise, we will get more of the same.
