Extreme Sleepover Ideas
- With the rise of reality television, everyone wants to be a star. Plan a talent show where each guest can showcase her best singing, dancing and acting talents to be judged by family or older siblings. Challenge each contestant to dress the part and make her own props for the show. Use the porch or make a special area as a mock stage. Award prizes to everyone and a special performance for the winner to show her talents to a larger group of family and neighbors the next day.
- Play a fun game of dress up for a fashion showcase with flair. Include the details on the theme of the fashion sleepover in your party invitations encouraging all invited guests to bring clothes, make-up and hair accessories. Spend time making up styles of walking the runway, which could be along the driveway or backyard sidewalk. Let each guest take turns being the designer, who gets to choose the look she wants for her models. Go wild with hair and make-up and award prizes to guests who strut their stuff the best.
- Dare guests to sleep under the stars with a vampire theme. Watch a series of vampire movies both old and new to prepare for an exciting night outdoors. Create a cozy tent filled with pillows and snacks and have each guest come dressed as the bloodthirsty undead or victims fending off lurking vampires. Decorate the area with plastic stakes, garlic and red costume blood. Take plenty of pictures of guests dressed as vampires or victims. Play vampire trivia games and have the kids make a list of people they'd like to make their victims or be bitten by, such as boys in their class.
- To take your sleepover out of the house, book an overnight party at a museum. Several museums will allow for large parties to not only book their slumber parties at their venue, but will allow your party to experience current exhibits during the party. Check with your local museums to book an overnight party.
