Wedding Ceremonies - Wedding Ceremonies:It"s All In the Details

Today, more and more brides and grooms are looking for creative and inventive ways of personalizing their wedding ceremonies while still retaining some essence of tradition. While all weddings are a time of joy and celebration, adding your own distinctive flair to the day lends an extra special quality to what will already be one of the most memorable days of your life.

Here are some ways to make the important aspects of your wedding ceremony uniquely tailored to the both of you.

The Wedding Date and Time

June is no longer the most popular month for weddings, even though it's still in the top three, as more couples are deciding on early spring or fall wedding, or one that takes place on a day of the week other than a Saturday. Some couples are also opting to have their ceremony in the early afternoon or evening as opposed to the usual time mid-day. Choosing a non-traditional time makes your wedding different, but it may also be a great way to save money, too.

The Venue

Many weddings no longer take place in traditional venues such as churches, chapels, or other places of worship. Today brides are only limited by their own imaginations as to where their nuptials take place.

Some brides are also deciding to have both parents or some other significant person in their lives walk them down the aisle instead of the traditional father-daughter walk. With more and more blended families, it's not unusual to have two or more special people walking a bride down the aisle on her wedding day.

The Wedding Vows

More couples are deciding to write their own vows as the ultimate way to personalize their wedding ceremony. Regardless if you are having a religious ceremony or not, saying your own vows is a meaningful way to express your love for one another. Be sure to check with the wedding officiant as there are still basic requirements that must be said in order to make the ceremony legal.

The Flowers

The bride's and bridesmaid's bouquets can easily be personalized by adding small embellishments throughout the flowers. Rhinestones, crystals, and gold trinkets are becoming rather popular choices for adding an extra touch to the bouquets. You'll also want to choose flowers that will complement the bridal party's attire while still following the theme of the wedding.

The Music

What better way to personalize your wedding day than by choosing all of the music that will be played? Although a wedding does require many different details, deciding on which songs to play when is a fun task that both the bride and groom can partake in. Most every couple has at least one song that has a significant meaning to them. Decide together what song you'll want playing when you walk down the aisle, and then think of all the specific songs you'll want to be a part of your reception.

Remember that this special day is all about the two of you and your love for one another. And while any type of wedding is meaningful, taking the time to sprinkle those extra, individual touches to the ceremony and reception makes it an unforgettable event for you and all who attend.
