    • 1). Open the "Start" menu on the toolbar on the bottom of your screen and select "Control Panel."

    • 2). Select the "Performance & Maintenance" option and scroll to the bottom of the window.

    • 3). Click on the "System" icon and select the tab labeled "Hardware" to bring up the hardware controls.

    • 4). Open "Device Manager" and cycle through the Network Adapters list for the available network devices in your computer.

    • 5). Look for a device called Wireless NIC, or Wireless Network Interface Card. If you find the file, your laptop is wireless. If not, you do not have wireless capabilities.
