I Can't Sync Apps to My iPad

USB Connection

If the iPad doesn't appear in the Devices section in iTunes, you can't sync apps to your tablet. Download and install the latest version of iTunes to decrease the chances of connection problems. If you're connecting your iPad to the computer via a USB hub, connect the tablet directly to the computer. In addition, some USB devices can cause connection conflicts, so disconnecting other devices, except for the keyboard, mouse and the iPad, may improve the connection. Occasionally, the USB 2.0 ports may fail to function, so restart the computer, then reconnect the iPad.

Restartig and Resetting the iPad

If the computer is still unable to recognize the iPad to sync apps, turning it off and on again reboots the firmware and can improve connections. If it still doesn't show up in iTunes, press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button on the iPad for a few seconds to bring up the red slider, then drag the slider to turn off the tablet. Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button again until the Apple logo appears on the screen, indicating that the iPad's iOS has been reset. After resetting the iPad, connect it to your computer.

Troubleshooting Apps

If iTunes is detecting your iPad, you can't sync apps that are missing. When you purchase and download apps from the iTunes store, they are stored in the App library. Click the "App" tab to see if the apps are available. If they are not available, purchase them before you can sync them to your iPhone.

Updating and Restoring

If iTunes is detecting your iPad and you're still unable to sync apps, update the device's iOS from the "Summary" tab in iTunes. If your device's iOS is up-to-date, create a backup copy of your files and restore the device to the default factory settings. To restore your iPad, click the "Restore" button in the device's "Summary" tab. An iPad restore erases saved content and custom settings, but you can restore the backup you created when iTunes prompts you to. Sync the apps after restoring your iPad. If the problem persists, contact Apple for support.
